Early intervention methodologies have proven over and over again how we as therapists, teachers, family language facilitators and other allied professionals can truly help shape a child's communication, including speech/ articulation, voice, fluency, language, social pragmatic, and behaviors.
For children who may have lifelong issues regarding communication, early intervention allows us to pour the foundation for a system that all professionals can build on. We get to explore early on, what modalities work best for the individual child.
Early intervention allows us to shape the communication patterns and find a positive system before the child gives up or develops difficult-to-manage behaviors. Early intervention will make the “management” of lifelong communicative disorders easier and help to prevent breakdowns due to frustration.
